Cast

AwenRose Miller (Philostrate) is a writer, actor, singer, and current PCC film student. She is very excited to be in her first production at Caltech! She would like to thank Chris Girt for reaching out to her about this show, and Max Gorbachev for giving her the chance to be in it. She hopes you enjoy the show!

Damian R. Wilson (Demetrius) is a physics and English junior at Caltech with interests in quantum gravity and the philosophy of physics. He is especially drawn to projects that bridge the arts, humanities, and sciences—Caltech's theatric specialty. He has appeared on the Caltech stage as Duke Orsino in EXPLiCIT's 2025 production of Twelfth Night and as the ne'er-do-well oil executive Bill Suthaby in Earth Data, Caltech's 2024 (and, to his knowledge, the world's first!) musical adaptation of a published ecotoxicology paper. Beyond research and theater, Damian enjoys poetry, classical and jazz music, baking, and dreams of someday shepherding in the Scottish Highlands.

Jonathan Chhang (Ophrys) is an electrical engineering Stanford University graduate who now works as a wireless communications engineer. He enjoys talking about science, gastronomy, and the Fourier Transform, with his significant other Emily Shi, a Caltech PhD student in chemistry.

Emily Shi (Cobweb) is a second year physical chemistry PhD student. She enjoys good Taiwanese food, painting, and editing fun videos. Emily had a lot of fun in Caltech's International Student Programs orientation comedy sketch and wanted to do more theater. She is excited to be playing the fairy Cobweb!

Jedidiah (Jedi) Alindogan (Mustardseed) is a second year PhD student in Control and Dynamical Systems and technically the lord of a one square foot plot of land in Scotland. He is honored to perform in A Midsummer Night's Dream this spring, and hopes his friends will enjoy this cinematic experience.

Tina Li (Peaseblossom) is excited to make her theater debut in this merry production, trying something new and stepping outside her comfort zone. On stage, it has felt like something out of a midsummer night's dream. A special thank you to her husband and daughters for their love and support.

K. Zachary Abbott (Snout the Tinker) has been acting in plays since he was in second grade, including with the Caltech players (TACIT, EXPLICIT, Play Readers, et al) for the past 23 years. He's thrilled to reunite on stage with friends from prior productions as well as to make new friends in this production. He only hopes his rendring of Wall will make his Akita proud!

Tiffany Kim (Snug the Joiner / Lion) is a grant manager on the research administration team in the Division of Physics, Mathematics and Astronomy (PMA). This is her ~nth production with EXPLiCIT AND TACIT, and she always has a roaringly good time lolling about with her pride of misfit mechanicals. Be advised: do not feed the live animals.

Mira Stuart (Helena) is so pleased to be back treading the boards of Ramo stage. As a tall lady, playing Helena is a dream come true. When not performing, she loves to weave and make films.

Cara King (Egeus) has played four of Shakespeare's women and ten of his men over the years. Her female roles include Celia and Paulina; her male roles include one-fifth of Richard II's army. (No wonder he lost.) She met her husband, Todd Brun, while doing her first play at Caltech; this is her 16th.

Kayane K. Dingilian, Ph.D. (Mote) (BS ChE '16) is a Lecturer of Chemistry and Chemical Engineering at Caltech. Kayane is an avid member of both the Caltech Glee Club and Chamber Singers and Caltech Improv. A Midsummer Night's Dream is her first theatrical appearance. When she is not preparing lessons or holding office hours at Red Door, Kayane enjoys hosting STEM outreach events, cooking, reading and writing about 18th century France, and playing World of Warcraft.

Frank Aragon (Bottom/Pyramus) is in his first production with EXPLiCIT. He is excited to be back on the stage since...well it has been a while. He enjoyed being part of this whimsical production.

Solvin Sigurdson (Oberon) is delighted to welcome you to this enchanting production of Midsummer Night's Dream. He is a 3rd year graduate student doing research in robotics, which really just means he always wanted to be a Skywalker. Solvin has appeared in EXPLiCIT's productions of The Real Inspector Hound, Twelfth Night, and The Importance of Being Earnest, TACIT's production of Earth Data: The Musical, and looks forward to more theatre at Caltech. He hopes that you enjoy the show, and that you find the places in your life where a little fairy mischief might be exactly what you need...

Eitan Levin (Starveling) is a graduate student at Caltech. He has previously served as EXPLiCIT's president and appeared in its production of The Real Inspector Hound. He is delighted to see so many EXPLiCIT shows on campus.

Dylan King (Theseus) is a graduate student in Mathematics. He is from North Carolina and outside of the department (or theater) enjoys running and swimming. He also works as a Teaching Assistant for many undergraduate courses at Caltech, where he does his best to share his enthusiasm with his students.

Christopher Girt (Francis Flute/Thisbe) was raised in a rural Oregon barnyard at the edge of the wilderness, Christopher apparently had an affinity for the dramatic. Trained as an architect, he has thrown himself into theatre and performing as another form of creative expression. In addition to some film work, he has been lauded for his stage performances as Chubukov in Chekhov's The Proposal and Egeon in Shakespeare's The Comedy of Errors at Long Beach Shakespeare Company, Mr. Dussel in The Diary of Anne Frank at Westminster Community Playhouse, Charlie Cowell in Meredith Willson's The Music Man as well as Henry Irving in Christopher Durang's The Actor's Nightmare at Young Stars Theatre Academy including most recently as Rooster Hannigan in the Broadway version of Annie. It is wonderful to be back on stage with Caltech. Thank you Max and EXPLiCIT!

Todd Brun (Puck) received his Ph.D. in Physics from Caltech in 1994 and is now a professor at USC and a visiting professor at Caltech, working on quantum computing. His first role with Caltech theater was as Mordred in Camelot. Since then he has been in 23 shows at Caltech as actor or director. He played Prospero in The Tempest and Benedick in Much Ado About Nothing; his most recently directed shows were the EXPLiCIT productions of Major Barbara and The Merry Wives of Windsor. Todd has gained many things from Caltech theater, but by far the most important is his lovely wife, Cara King, whom he met in The Importance of Being Earnest.

Ankan Mukherjee (Peter Quince) is a 3rd year PhD student in Applied Physics at Caltech. He is working on quantum hardware and devices on 2-D material platforms. He has been active on stage since elementary school and has been a member of EXPLiCIT for over 2 years now. Currently the president of EXPLiCIT, he has previously acted in The Importance of Being Earnest and is happy to produce and act alongside the jovial mechanicals in A Midsummer Night's Dream.

Sara Magdalena Gomez (Titania) is a first year applied physics graduate student at Caltech. While by night she enjoys answering questions such as "To be, or not to be?" through acting, by day she works on the scientific counter part "Alive, or dead?" through quantum computing. In her free time she also enjoys dancing, reading, and unhinged side-quests with her friends. She hopes you enjoy the show and thanks you for coming to her first ever Caltech production.

Max Gorbachev (Lysander) wants to thank all the cast and crew for their patience and dedication. Special thanks go out to Brian Brophy, Ankan Mukherjee, Mahak Mathur, Caltech Robotics club, and the whole crew of Caltech Ramo auditorium, without whom this production would have been a pain in the derrière on a scale of 10 or simply not possible in its current form. The biggest thanks go out to Max's wife, the future Nobel Laureate in Physics, who also happens to be the most beautiful woman on Earth (No, she didn't make Max write this).

Grace Davis (Hermia) is thrilled to join EXPLiCIT for the first time, and she delightedly welcomes you to this production of A Midsummer Night's Dream! Grace is a junior undergraduate studying chemistry, and she researches polymer behavior in complex environments with the wonderful Datta Lab. She's also a captain of the Caltech Swim & Dive Team and an active member of the Caltech Catholics. When she's not in the lab, library, or pool, you can find her reading a book at the Huntington Gardens, swimming in the ocean, or wandering local farmers' markets in search of new succulents for her dorm-room garden.

Crew

Ankan Mukherjee (EXPLiCIT President/ Producer/ Media & Outreach) is a 3rd year PhD student in Applied Physics at Caltech.

Beyond research and theater, Damian enjoys poetry, classical and jazz music, baking, and dreams of someday shepherding in the Scottish Highlands.

Linda Muggeridge (Costumes & Props) loves storytelling. In every phase of her varied career, storytelling has been a goal and a joy. In theater, every time an actor inhabits a costume, that wardrobe needs to instantly tell the audience a very short but effective story about that character. Working with the director, the actor, and other designers to make that story is Linda's idea of awesome. It is a whole other level of awesomeness to work together with students to use what they are learning in school - history, literature, physics - to sculpt their look and connect it with the bigger picture and the human experience. Her website is manyhatzcostumes.com.

Max Gorbachev (Director/ Sound Tech) wants to thank all the cast and crew for their patience and dedication.

Finn Swanson (Light Tech) is a freshman undergraduate student studying electrical engineering. He enjoyed helping out with lighting on his high school's theatre productions and is excited to continue that at Caltech. He has done lighting for The Importance of Being Earnest and The Three Sisters previously at Caltech.

Cara King (Media & Outreach) has played four of Shakespeare's women and ten of his men over the years. Her female roles include Celia and Paulina; her male roles include one-fifth of Richard II's army. (No wonder he lost.) She met her husband, Todd Brun, while doing her first play at Caltech; this is her 16th.

Elena Scire (Set Design) has worked on Explicit/Tacit plays since 2012.
